Having recently planned my own wedding, I know that couples put a great deal of passion into creating a wedding that represents their uniqueness. I work with my clients to create a personalized ceremony song list that truly represents them, filled with melodies that will pull on their heartstrings and bring their guests along for the ride.
I am committed to making the planning-process easy, and the final presentation flawless. Please glance at the Frequently Asked Questions below, and visit my Contact page if you have additional questions regarding my services and availability.
What do your services include?
My services begin with a planning meeting to select beautiful music for your ceremony. I can send song lists and some recordings via email prior to our meeting, upon request.
The day of your ceremony, I will arrive early and begin playing prelude music as your guests begin to arrive (typically 20-30 minutes before your ceremony starts). After playing for the ceremony itself, I will play postlude music as guests are leaving the ceremony site. I am always happy to learn songs that are not in my current repertoire, and never charge extra to do so.
I can recommend additional musicians upon request, and will act as the liaison between you and all the musicians so that communication is streamlined and efficient. I will work with your venue, coordinator and/or church liturgist to square away all technical details relating to music and sound for your event.
Additionally, I like to find out what a couple's color palette is so I can blend in nicely! I believe the aesthetic of music is just as important as the sound when it comes to elegant events.
Do you have your own equipment?
Yes! I have a Nord Keyboard and Bose sound system. These are two of the top names in musical equipment. My Nord has one of the best piano sounds on the market, and my Bose speaker is slim and sleek and won't interfere with your pictures. The sound is crystal clear, whether it needs to carry a short distance or all the way across the room for larger events.
I also have extra microphones (corded, wireless hand-held and lapel) for your officiate and readers, and can accommodate additional instruments through the Bose system if needed. If your event requires additional equipment beyond what I own, I will coordinate renting the appropriate equipment from a reputable local source.
Can you play outdoors?
Absolutely! My equipment sounds fantastic outdoors.
Do your ceremony music rates include prelude & postlude music?
Yes! I will begin playing as guests arrive, and will play after your ceremony until your guests have exited the ceremony site.
Do you travel outside Omaha?
Yes! Please contact me to inquire about travel rates outside the Omaha metro.
Can you hire additional musicians for us?
Yes. I can recommend and contract additional musicians, regardless of your ceremony location. I work with the best musicians in the area! If you would like me to work with a friend or family member to provide music for your ceremony, that's not a problem.
What additional instruments can we hire?
I know many talented musicians and can recommend a great player for just about any instrument you want. The most popular instruments for wedding ceremonies are violin (or string combinations), trumpet, organ, guitar, flute and additional vocalists (male and female).
If you are looking for something a little different, I will make recommendations at our meeting once I know what type of music and sound you are hoping to incorporate.
Do you sing/play ceremonies of all religious denominations?
Do you sing/play Catholic wedding ceremonies?
Yes - they are my specialty! I grew up playing in Catholic churches and still play weekly, so I am very familiar with all of the components of a Catholic ceremony.
Do you play Cocktail Hour music?
Yes! I can provide solo piano music, sing and play the piano, or bring members of my band (percussion, upright bass, guitar, horns, etc). We can chat about your vision and your budget to determine the perfect instrumentation for your event.
What type of music do you play?
For wedding ceremonies, couples typically like a combination of classic wedding favorites and more modern or contemporary songs that they know and love. At our planning meeting, I will help the couple compose a list of songs that have meaning to them and their families. I've played everything from Canon in D to Coldplay!
For cocktail hour, I'll typically play a combination of jazz standards and modern favorites - but clients are always welcome to make special requests.
